Proud Principal of East Pike

Mr. Springer
This past month your generous donations to support families in need was inspiring. I cannot tell you how proud our students are when they put
their money in the turkey bin or bring in food items and put their name on the heart that hangs in our hallways. Please dig deeper in this newsletter to
see the total contributions from East Pike. We are proud to be a part of these worthy causes and help the many families in need that live in Indiana
County.

I also wanted to thank the many veterans who came into East Pike to talk about their service. Every homeroom had the opportunity to listen to a veteran, see pictures or touch items brought in, and to ask questions. I really appreciate the time they took with our young children. A special thanks to Sergeant LaBare and his fellow soldiers form the 420th Engineer Company for bringing the tactical vehicles as well as other soldiers to visit East Pike classrooms.

The holiday season is upon us and only adds to our already busy lives. Take time to create new traditions or bring old ones back to life in your homes. While I dread the process of dragging all the holiday decorations down from the attic, I love the way the house looks when it is all decorated. Each year we purchase an ornament while on vacation or trip. These ornaments have multiplied
over the years and make great conversations during the decorating process.

When was the last time you told your children stories from your childhood?
Your children may not seem like they are interested, but they will remember them as they get older. The holiday season is a magical time of year and that magic is found within your family.

Happy Holidays to you and your families,
Mr. Springer
