COVID-19 Update - East Pike Elementary

May 4, 2021

Dear Families:

The District was notified that a student at East Pike Elementary has tested positive for COVID-19.  The student was in school during his/her infectious periods.   As a result of the contract tracing efforts, no additional staff and/or students need to be quarantined. This positive case WILL be attributed to the District.

Based on the information above as well as our current case count, we will continue to stay open under the current model.  See below for the current case numbers at each building as of today.

  • Senior High - 0 active cases
  • Junior High - 0 active cases
  • Eisenhower - 0 active cases
  • Horace Mann - 1 active case
  • Ben Franklin - 0 active cases
  • East Pike - 1 active case

As a reminder, the 14-day clock starts at the onset of symptoms, not when the District is informed of the test results.

As always, the number of confirmed cases can change at any time.  We understand the terrible inconvenience a closure causes our families; however, we have a responsibility to make you aware of the possibility.  My goal is not to cause panic, rather it is to help make you aware of the current situation in case the District needs to make a change rather quickly.

Respectfully,

Mr. Michael J. Vuckovich

IASD Superintendent
